    Funny... that's exactly what I was doing with it. I just now hit it with Neatsfoot. I didn't know about the sun trick though.

    I couldn't bring myself to stain it I was due for sumpthin natural colored.I'll try the sun thing and see if I can darken it a bit.

    I had one holster come out a nice russet color but I've been unable to replicate it. Each hide will tan a bit different so you never know what you're going to wind up with, not always the best thing if it's for a customer but for personal projects that's fine with me. Lately the last few projects I've done for me I've skipped the dye and just oil and let age naturally, may be just a phase but I like the look.

    Well of course there hasn't been a lick of sun out round here to try to get some more color but here it is with some neatsfoot and some leather balm. I'm sure it will darken some with age.

    If the sun ever comes out around here I'll still give it a shot.

    Stick in front of the wifes sun lamp might work.
