I saw a vid today of a scabbard that could also be used to strap on shoulder which would be great on quad and or backpack or just walking to the woods. Rifle can be pulled out cross draw. Yup its on the list.

My neck knife draws down, with the pointy part up. The kydex was sunken in more to retain on the index finger hole. Not sure how the would happen with leather without a retention strap.

Or just put a strap on.

The issue I see with neck knife sheaths in leather is that leather softens and stretches over tine. The sheath will eventually loosen up and the knife may come out when you don't want it to if worn inverted. I personally would put some sort of retention strap on it just in case. The rifle scabbard idea sounds great, I've been considering one lately but I'm not sure exactly what I'd use it for and it would be a big chunk of leather that I could use for other projects so it's way down on my list of things to build. I'm currently working on a vertical shoulder holster for a Ruger Super Redhawk in .454 Casull, still working on the template right now but should be cutting leather by the end of the week. I'm a little behind posting in my own thread so hopefully when this project is finished I can get caught up.

Maybe a redo on one of the chrome tanned I did?

    Revolver pancake holster?
    Hmm don't know yet.
Went for a re do today. Tried a whack at a border and got so so results.
The lines are a bit ruff the barbwire is ok but it would look better without the 2 border lines? Practice practice.

Sew it up and finish coat next this one is going quick.

Got it finished. Nice snug retention from the wet mold.

Last night I finally got my dads snap-all set out and figured out how to use it for the most part.
I set some rivets and a couple of snaps.
Looks like this only the box is a blue color.

I think Im going to do a sheath for an old Bowie knife Ive had for a few decades. the original sheath was dry rotted even way back then.
anyway the bowie is not a candidate for a wet mold retention so I think I will make my first sheath with a snap retention... Maybe!
