Survival Gear Review: Fällkniven MB Modern Bowie

Trigger Alert: This article is about a very big knife. If that scares you, then click here. March 6, 1836 was aFallkniven_MB_Modern_Bowie_Knife_Cobalt_posing-survival bad day for Jim Bowie. In fact the two weeks prior weren’t much better since the small mission building in which Jim and a hundred others took a stand was under attack. Remember the Alamo? But long before that fateful Sunday morning James Bowie was famous for his knife prowess whether true or not. In 1827 Bowie (pronounced BOO-ee) was involved in a skirmish known as the Sandbar Fight where Jim Bowie essentially won a gunfight with a knife. A very large knife. And, as they say, the rest is history.

I own it's little brother..... an S1 Pro.
Give a man an airline ticket and he'll fly for one day. Push him out of the airplane and he'll fly for the rest of his life.

So far I'm pleased with it. I don't care about the too-skinny handle, so I wrapped it. I also ditched the included plastic sheath and had a leather one made.

I could not afford a real Bowie, so I got a Tramontana 12" machete, as a substitute. I have had some big knives: like the Buck 119, and a couple of Camillus Kabars'; but I would like to get a Bowie someday. I am the only member of my family that is like that, I have always been drawn to weapons.
    1. I finished reading Blackhawk Down, the book, and it was very good. 2. I finished reading The Hunger Games, and it is wilder than the movie is.
    3. I finished Lone Survivor on CD, and I watched the movie, and the book is better. Everybody on that Team should have gotten the Medal Of Honor, but only one man lived. So there were no witnesses.[March 14, 2019]
