Unfortunately about 10 years or so ago I got bit by what I thought was a Tick. It got inflamed and infected and it was diagnosed as Cellulitus of the Skin in my left leg. Since then I've had it 2 other times and simple anti-biotics have cleared it up. When I got my TKR my doc took the extra precautions to make sure I had enough anti-biotics to avoid this.
Now its back and it is a pain in the ass! Sipping some Bourbon as I type this and waiting on my next round of anti-biotics at 10 pm tonight!

Not to rain on your parade could the bourbon be slowing down the effects of your antibiotics? It has been known to do that one of my troops in Korea had a problem, the doc prescribed antibiotics and he was surprised when they were not working and then the doc found out he was still consuming of the grain and told him he had to quit while he was taking them.

Doxycycline is an antibiotic used to treat a range of bacterial infections. While drinking alcohol while taking certain antibiotics can be risky, it’s generally safe to consume alcohol while taking doxycycline. But try to avoid it if you have a history of chronic drinking or any liver conditions.
Keep in mind that alcohol can slow down your body’s immune response. If you do choose to drink while taking doxycycline, you may be adding another day onto your recovery from the underlying infection.
No liver conditions but obviously a history of chronic drinking! Will plan to slow it down over the next 14 days.
Appreciate it Innkeeper...er...Mrs Slippy!

That is not logical!
Alcohol is an antiseptic. Antiseptics kill germs. Germs cause infections. By my logic, Slippy's alcohol consumption should help the antibiotics kill his infection!
Slip: Dr Inor's prescription is to double, or better yet, triple you alcohol consumption while you are on the antibiotic to the point that no self-respecting germ would want to live in your body! (Or your liver fails, in which case the germs won't matter anyway.)

********UPDATE**************
After 6 days the Wound Care Doctors office got back to me and said they can see me next week on the 23rd. I asked them if they had any available appointments this week and they said YES! BUT...none of the docs who have an available appointment accept my insurance. (CIGNA PPO)
WHAT!?!?!, I said, I thought obama-care solved this? The lady on the phone did not see the humor nor the relevence of my comment she just repeated they can set me up for next week.
So I asked her if I showed up with a pocket full of cash, would the doc who does not accept CIGNA PPO take cash? She said they cannot take cash.
WHAT!?!?! I said, Why not?
She then told me they were not set up to take cash. She repeated my appointment was next week and thanked me and hung up.
WE ARE SO PHUCKED!
