Bingo. While not technically a "safe" it is built really well. It's also bolted to the wall so I dont see it walking off anytime soon.

Seems like a rare breed of locking cabinet that you have deemed a "valuable storage device". I like it.
I have a few, they are all bolted together, and super screwed and bolted, a bad guy would be better off just taking down the wall. I do need to get my cameras online, and have plans to point one at the access to the safes.
You will never be forgotten. RIP Corporal Bradley Coy (USMC)

I believe the snap safes are much closer to an actual safe, these are really more like security cabinets. Much like the stack-on or homak "safes" that they used to sell in walmart and kmart. The secueirt cabinets are much nicer though and I suspect they are better built than anything stack-on or homak offers which always made me think of a mechanic tool cabinet. Me buying a safe was more about the fire rating than locking up my guns. I could lock them up in anything but I wanted the fire rating of a good safe since I have several guns that belonged to my father and hold quite a bit of sentimental value.

I have an old-ish cabinet thats made out of thicker steel that my 5 year old Stack-on -- when and if a new armorer takes possession of our Women on Target 10/22's ---- I'll fire proof / flame resistant -- it with two layers of 3/4" fire rated sheet rock like whats used for interiors of attached garages up here ----- and that will be my ammo cabinet --

    And of course do a write-up --
