    frensel lenes

You can do a lot with these salvaged from old TV that are getting hard to find.

Anybody here played with one? They say the good ones can almost weld metal with, certainly cook/heat stuff.

I saw a couple videos on them, and they can almost produce a laser beam if focused right. One guy had one set up in his back yard for cooking. A handy item to hang onto if you can find one.

That won't compare to a large one from a TV.

You could probably get a good tan underneath one of these.

I'm over 50 years old but act like a 13 year old.

Free section on Craigslist has TVs come up regular. You don't know how good the lens is until you pry it out. Some focus to a finer point.

How many here played with magnifying glasses as kids? We used to burn all kinds of stuff. Burn writing into pieces of wood..........

A small fresnel lens is handy to stick in your wallet to have for a reading glass or a firestarter.
