Ford F150 Lightning Electric Vehicle-WOW! Just WOW!...Or maybe not wow?

I could argue either side of the debate podium regarding Electric Vehicles but I've studied up a bit on the new Ford F150 Lightning (Pro Model for $39.9k and so far I'm pretty impressed.

    What say you knuckleheads?

If you're a car guy you know electric vehicles have been around since the 1800's, I like electric vehicles and might even own one one day but I'm a combustion engine guy at heart, one thing that holds me back is charging, I don't know about you but when I travel I go further than 300 miles, where do you charge? not like they have gas style electric stations, if I'm driving down route 66 and need a charge for my Ford truck where do I stop? I will say that in Aurburn Hills Mi. at a Target store I seen charging areas for Tesla cars, I was surprised but what about my GM, Ford or? I really like the new Hummer coming out but the lack of distance and charging station options will hold me back.

    I'm I missing something?

What sucks is the wife has given me the okay when this is available but I think I'll be too old before I feel like I can go anywhere without worries.

I am totally apalled at the ignorance portrayed by electric vehicle mfgrs and sellers and buyers.

    1. 300 miles is just a decent road trip . . . one way . . . and you gotta charge to get back.

    2. Using the saw out in the woods will use up your battery . . . and I'll just bet that will be a long walk and and expensive "tow" bill when you are rescued.

    3. There is no current . . . or forseeable future . . . place to discard these batteries when they go bad . . . and they are from what I've read . . . not able to be recycled.

    4. A HUGE LOT of the technology to run them comes out of chink chong china . . . and who is to say there is not a "chip" piece in it that can be turned off some day in the future . . . that would turn it off . . . dead in the water . . . not useable.

    5. It costs approximately (today) 3 times the fuel to extricate the resources to build one as the thing will save over it's projected life time.

    Now . . . is there anyone out there that has an honest . . . workable . . . answer for the above . . . ??

    Yeah . . . didn't think so.

    May God bless,
    Dwight

If you can read in English, . . . thank a veteran.

As all Earth Worshiping Hippies from Sunny CA know..electric vehicles only moves the smoke stack from the small amount of pollution put out by modern cars to the giant coal fired and nuclear electric power generation stations. Forget hydro electric since CA is using up all the water to grow almonds. Who knows it takes a gallon of water to make one almond? Think how much water is in a gallon of almond milk? Hydrogen fuel cells are the only thing that can turn mother earth into a man made Utopia similar to the Garden of Eden but leaving God out of the loop.

Electric vehicles sound really great... if you live in suburbia AND you happen to have free or really cheap electricity. Raising unicorns for profit sounds really great too, if they really poop ice cream.

Plus according to the article it can take up to 10-14 hours to charge the vehicle back to full so that is a lot of waiting to go 230-300 miles at a time....just saying.

    Nope!

I don't like most cars/trucks made after ~1990. Most newer stuff is a cluster**** to work on, I don't want it.

Electric? ROFL!!! Where you going to plugin? Is triple AAA going to rescue you when you're SOL and stranded? What happens if there is a blackout or the grid goes down.

I guess with the new F150 you could put a genny and charging system in the bed along with a big ass fuel tank......
