Regarding a drain on the grid, I think its pretty evident that most people will not get an EV. Hell, Tesla has sold a somewhere around 2 million vehicles (check my stat on that one, I'm going from memory) and I still rarely see one in the wild!

Plus, it seems as if the cost to charge a car is much less than the strain that microwaves, hairdryers and toaster ovens put on the grid daily!

But for me, I'm also thinking it would be a cool project to build a Solar Home Charging Station...

I'll keep my eyes and ears open and see how this Ford F150 EV thing progresses.

But I am betting a new Owner has to buy his own skinny jeans, huh?

I think we could play hockey over top of hell before that will come to pass.

I mean the place frozen solid . . . about 6 ft deep . . . and free ice skates and hockey sticks for everyone.

I think I'll stick with my good old fashioned gas guzzling truck. If I want to get across country it won't be in an electric truck. One of our corporate partners has an electric car as a company vehicle. I took a ride with him and the thing can move. I was surprised. But finding charging stations is a problem, especially once you start hitting the countryside. He has to carry different adapters for the different chargers and then there is the wait time to charge. I'll pass.

Those electric motors in the locomotives are powered by gigantic diesel engines. They're a hybrid....lol

With the broken up and halfazzed electrical grid in the United States, electric vehicles are just not practical.

I'm sure someone, somewhere, at one time, said the same thing about people flying, or going to space, or going to the bottom of the ocean.....
