"1st; ...Very good article, it's definately "United We Drive & Divided We Park" in the car hobby. So I hope your excellent overview here will open up more eyes & ears to repeated excessive Govt intervention in vehicle development over the years.

2nd; ...Ever since the 1st "Cash 4 Clunker's" Pilot Program by UNOCAL in CA. I have repeatedly said; "The Government should NOT be in the Car Business. Period." ......Now, C4C's has evolved into today's "Cap & Trade" schemes to avoid cleaning up corporate pollution.

3rd; ...I've also said that GM's EV-1 program was just a PR stunt to postpone any more Govt intervention in vehicle emission system development. .....Then, to my delight, the unintended consequences of that cynical manipulation by their lobbyists actually freed up their R&D departments to develop more HP & performance from today's ICE vehicles.

4th; ...Meanwhile, VW's Post "Diesel-Gate" PR-driven conversion now to all EV's basically just transfers vehicle pollution from the tail-pipe to the smoke-stack of a polluting Power Plant. ......Also, when everybody gets home from work and plugs in, how many century-old power grids can meet that heavy Kw demand w/o "Brown-Outs".

5th; ...The draw-backs of mass EV conversion are already starting to surface. U.S. journalists are writing about how the limited Public EV Charging Stations over-charge their users just because they have the monopoly. ......In Germany, their entire power grid will collapse without massive infrastructure improvements once more than 15% of their vehicles become EVs and plug in at night. ......EVs still have a long way to evolve folks.

So, in conclusion, we all need to keep a close watch on government policies that pick and choose winning technologies based on crony capitalism, and are not in 'We The Peoples' best interests. ......Simply because we are not "Mobile Revenue Sources", and that it's "United We Drive & Divided We Park".
