I know the CME theories and stories have gotten old since they showed up around 2012.
However, We are now in the beginning stages of solar cycle 25. Just something else to keep an eye on.

has added a story to their main page that goes into the Carrington Event sunspot, how large it really was, and the possibility of one in the modern era.
They have also added a "Carrington comparison" to their sunspot imagery.

Am I wrong or crazy for hoping for a major CME? Even if it knocks the whole world back to pre-elec times...at least we'd be in our OWN world, and not some bullshit NWO.

If we don't kill ourselves before hand, which is what I would bet on, this rock has an expiration date. Whether it be the sun, an asteroid, or some other cosmic event, if we are here when it happens, we will perish. There have been 5 major ELE's on this planet. Are we so naive that we think it won't happen again? It could be tomorrow or billions of years from now but it will happen. But, like I said, I am betting we kill each other long before some cosmic bullet hits us. Be as prepared as you can be and live your life as best you can.

There is other things just here on earth that can devastate the planet too. Volcanos. There have been a few "super volcanos" at Yellowstone. One of those would wipe out the USA.

BBC did a docudrama in 2005 of a similar eruption



Mt Toba in Indonesia, nearly wiped out mankind with a global winter. It was far bigger than the Yellowstone eruptions.

I'm bumping the thread to point out an article in today's spaceweather.com about a CME that hit in March of 1940.

The article has a link to a paper that was done on the event. I don't see the system tolerating the same voltages today.
