Victorinox Farmer and the Opinel #8 stainless

I wanted the Farmer for a long time as an addition to my bushcraft kit. Should be a real winner in that category. Made in Switzerland.

I've heard lots of good stuff about Opinel. The design is from the late 1800's and it locks open/closed with a twist of the collar. Scary sharp outta the box. Nice wooden handle. And inexpensive. The stainless is $15 on amazon. They make a carbon steel version for $13. Made in Inor's favorite country: France. Very impressed.
So a little over 4 months later and I've fallen in love with the Victorinox in the above post. I used to Edc a Spyderco PM2. And that is one hell of a great knife... But this vic is just so much more useful that I've been carrying it everyday for the last few months. It's absolutely perfect for me. Kinda crazy that it won out over a knife that costs 2-3 times as much huh? The PM2 has now become a self defense blade that I only carry when traveling in crappy areas. Here's an updated pic of the vic:

I think we lack knife talk around here so here is my latest 50 cal knife. My woman found it at a garbage sale.

If I have pants on, I have a knife in my pocket.

I have 2 knives on me, a Frost and a Gerber; and both of them have locking blades, that are 3" long. I started carrying 2, just on general principle.
    1. I finished reading Blackhawk Down, the book, and it was very good. 2. I finished reading The Hunger Games, and it is wilder than the movie is.
    3. I finished Lone Survivor on CD, and I watched the movie, and the book is better. Everybody on that Team should have gotten the Medal Of Honor, but only one man lived. So there were no witnesses.[March 14, 2019]

When I am home, I ALWAYS carry a Benchmade Osborne. When traveling, I ALWAYS carry a Kershaw Leek. The only time I am without a knife on my person is when I am going through airports.

I have a Gerber on me every day with serrations... which will make you bleed like a stuck pig. It's what you will feel if you manage to knock my Glock 27 loose.
