    So...
I am only posting this to "Thought Start" those of you that have REAL smokers....
I have a Pellet Smoker/Grill and am limited in a few ways by it.

The recipe itself sounds pretty darn good....
But I really like the thought of the Sugar Cane for the "Smoke" component.
I am really not much of a Steven Raichlen fan though.

Sorry Hawg to sidetrack your thread.

    I'd try it!

Where do we get the sugarcane?

You could do it on a Weber if your pellet grill won't accommodate some briquettes in the main smoking chamber.

Not exactly sure where you live (I do have an Idea...but....)
We have a place over this way called Randazzo's.
There are two... One in Westland and one in Redford. Late summer I have seen sugar cane there. Not sure about this late in the season though
