Smoking some Hungarian hot wax peppers today. After I pour the smoke to them for 4 or 5 hours I will finish drying them in the dehydrator then grind them into a powder for using on everthing from eggs to soups.

Sounds awesome Hawg! Those also look to be about the right size to stuff with cream cheese and strawberry jam too. (I LOVE hot peppers stuffed with cream cheese and strawberry jam.)

Into the dehydrator. Used hickory this time.

My mouth is watering looking at those pictures. I have never smoked peppers, did you split them or did they split in the heat? Do you remove the seeds before you grind them into a powder?
I am the crazy Auntie that everyone warned you about.

I put several slices in them so the smoke gets inside. More smoke the better for my powders.
As soon as they dry I'll grind them in a small coffee bean grinder that I dedicate to my smoked pepper and wild leak powders. I leave the seeds in for maximum heat they grind up pretty good. I'll put up a pic during grinding process.
