    Just so you know, I hate you guys. I MIGHT get out for a day or 2 after Turkey Day.
    My retirement plan is: Civilization will probably crumble before I'm 65 and money will be meaningless anyway.

    Day 1 was a bust. Saw a whole lot of NOTHING!
    The only deer sign I found was a new tree rub I found about 11. No shit, no scrapes, no animals at all, except crows. I heard crows all day. A squirrel finally showed itself about 3, shortly before I had to hike back to the truck. And only 2 shots heard all day.
    I will be hunting a different area tomorrow.
    My retirement plan is: Civilization will probably crumble before I'm 65 and money will be meaningless anyway.

    That looks like it should have been decent in those oaks. Any white oaks around? Deer like those acorns better than red oak although they eat the red oak too.

    Can't spit without hitting an oak. Not alot of acorns on the ground this year.

    I found that deer will gobble up the red acorns after the first major snow of the season melts.

    Thinking the snow washes some tannin away ?

    Might be the freeze itself bring sugars near the surface like with sugar beets??? Don't know...
    but I do know they prefer white oak acorns over red.
