    Broken dipstick any ideas?

    I was checking oil and this happened.



    Now I gotta figure out how to get the rest of it out.

    cant tell in pic if part of the base is still there.
    If so run a small self tappong screw in it an pull out

    That was my first idea too. Don't have one small enough so I'll hit the hardware store later. Thanks!

    Dipsticks always get broken, that's why they are called dipsticks.

    I try to dig at it from the side with a dental pick or a valve packing remover that looks like this-

    Unbolt the tube and pull the tube. That is what I did. The stick and tube kit for that truck was only 8 bucks more than just the stick. That was 10 years ago though.

    Like sp said, the tube should be held on at the bottom with one bolt. If you can get one of the screw tools shown above, it would prob. Pop it out too.
