Bought the Wife a new CCW for an early Mothers day gift. A new Ruger Lite Rack Security 380. I like the Lite rack. Hopefully I can compare her old 380 to this one on Saturday. The new Ruger has a capacity of 15.

Guns, the one gift that really shows how much you care.

Cleaned and oiled an FAL, and a 1911.

Forgot, got the new AR flat top uppers in the mail.

Changing out some A2 uppers, putting on red dots on afterwards.

    They were ordered last Monday.

We finally found some turkeys to order. So, we ordered 5 Heritage Bronze and 5 Narragansett.

    https://www.cacklehatchery.com/produ...ansett-turkey/
    https://www.cacklehatchery.com/produ...andard-turkey/

By this afternoon, they were already sold out again. It seems like there is a turkey shortage this year? Since this is our first time raising turkeys, I am not sure if this is normal or not. I was thinking they were like chickens where you could just order whatever you want, whenever you want. But that is apparently not the case with turkeys (at least this year).

Mrs Inor also ordered 5 more brooder hens. We need more egg chickens like I need an ex-wife! But Mrs Inor informed me that if we didn't get some broody egg chickens, I would have an ex-wife! So...

They are all due to arrive early next week.

Since we had both kind of resigned ourselves that we would not be able to get turkeys this year, I had started designing a Meat Shack (combination of a curing shack and cold smoker) to build for this summer's project. But now that we have turkeys on the way, I have to shift gears and figure out something for a roost and a shade area in the pasture for the turkeys.

That is okay because the Meat Shack is going to require quite a bit of concrete work and brick work which I was none too keen to start going into our hottest months of the year (May and June). So that will be a good project for next fall after the monsoons.

Sorry guys this is way off topic but -

Inor - what is your water situation? Do you have a well, how deep is it and do you have a backup 'hand-pump' ready?

    Congrats on the turkeys, btw

I wasn't sure where to post this, wife slid into the ditch last winter, called me to pull her out. Got in the truck shifted to 4X4 and no 4x4, seems chevy went to a shift on the fly with a thermally activated solenoid, 200k miles it when bad. New part $50, too late to help me out, towing charge $185. Something to think about, I could have gotten one of these and been sure, day late and a dollar short.

I went to the Jeeps because I got sick of having to get out and switch the hubs on the Bronco's.

I dropped the rear driveshaft, actually shredded the rubber collar, in the middle of traffic in a five way intersection.

Had to switch the hubs, so embarrassed.

Put a new one in the next day.

Traded that Bronco in for a Jeep.

Still having Jeeps 35 years later.
