After all the rain and mud this winter, and nearly buying the entire rock quarry, I have finally got my yearling heifers moved to some good grass, with no mud in sight.....YET!

I have the exact opposite problem. We haven't had rain in months. My pastures are turning to dust. I had to start buying hay for fear the herd was going to starve. I'm glad to see things looking up for you, Hag.

View from my office window (aka tractor cab) as the sun went down. Nice to stop and think sometimes how lucky we are, even poor dumb, country boys like me

I've been hearing about brush fires popping up down there. Anything near you?

There were seven separate wild fires in my tiny county 3 days ago. Luckily, they were all in brushland areas, and not near any houses. Unfortunately, I fear that it is just a matter of time before they get worse, if we don't get some rain.

We've been on burn ban for a few weeks off and on. Even with the rain we just had, it's still banned. Had a good sized brush fire last weekend about five miles from me, but they got it under control without calling forestry in.
I fear the nation I loved may be gone. The best I hope for now is to die with honor in the coming civil war, and that my grandchildren be spared the pain of a tyrannical government.

My yard is still covered in snow. But we're expecting 50's & 60's this week, so that will be gone soon.

    It IS still February however.

Shit. 60s and 70s down here. Ticks and parasites will be horrible this year, not to mention skeeters.
