    Golumpki

My mother and grandmother made these but I never got their recipes, I watched though.

Had some nice big 12-lb cabbage to use up and the good 90% lean burger was on sale, 3.5-lbs.

First I cooked up the fillings: seasoned burger (black pepper sage rosemary and thyme), rice , and onion red peppers and garlic.

Had to use my biggest 6-gal pot to blanch the cabbage and soften outer leaves

Peel off the outer leaves and chill in cold water, I saved the center for coleslaw

Mix the fillings and load up the leaves, then fold the packet up

Load the crockpot up, add some of the cabbage water from blanching, and top with smoked peppered
    bacon.

I put the cooker on low for 8 hours, I forget to get picture of that. They were good!

Wow..thanks. Cabbage rolls is my favorite food group. I always thought the Frugal Perverts Recipe wasnt bad. He throws a can of Sour Kraut in it. Gives it a nice zing.

6 Side Effects Of Cabbage That You Should Know

    1. Increased Flatulence

Gas or Flatulence. Possibly the most infamous of all of cabbage’s side effects, this is one you’ve probably heard of. And it is true. Like broccoli, cauliflower, bran and beans, cabbage too is not easily digested by the enzymes of your small intestine. When they reach your colon, the bacteria act on them, creating gas. If you experience flatulence or bloating, or find yourself belching often as a result of eating cabbage, abstaining from this vegetable is the only way to stop the problem.
I'm a big baby I get butthurt easily.
I'm over 50 years old but act like a 13 year old.

Thanks. Had sorta suspected this years back during some flatulence contests in the fire bay on frosty mornings. Anybody who had cabbage for supper the previous evening was usually in the running to be the winner. Recall the legendary champ often claimed to like his cabbage with a big glass of buttermilk.
Being a highly lazy person who loves cabbage rolls. I stumbled over what was called Cedric's casserole a few decades ago. After tweaking on it all those years I figured out toss the Tomato Soup and use spicy Mexican Tomato sauce for a topping and throw in half a jar of good sour kraut. Mighty tasty.

    +1 on Tomato Soup

One small can of Mexican tomato sauce and same sized can of water is a worthy replacement for the tomato soup. I guess old Cedric is some kinda sissified yankee or something lol.

If you get the farts , from good food you don't eat enough good food, so your digestive tract has the correct bacteria to digest it.

If I gave you a bottle of my hard cider, You might get the shits from the live yeast........

Ro-Tel medium diced tomatoes and chilies instead of the soup?

My Polish grandmother used to make those with a very mild tomato based sauce ( no sauerkraut ).
