One thing, the US Army did spend a lot of money on providing me skills, something that is hard to get on the civilian side.

I made lifelong friends, real friends, guys who were willing to die for each other. That can not be found anywhere outside a combat zone. I look forward to our annual reunions.
The only friends I have are ones I met in the service, it can be hard connecting with civilians.

I stopped fearing death in 2005 and started fearing it again in 2015...now I just don't care.

The point of the post is this....when half of America is not worth saving, where do we say that its not worth it. Now I love my Countrymen. But I don;t see them anywhere...Its people who bend a knee to social justice and/or try to play nice and say "Oh I understand".

In my world...you love what we stand for...or you hate what we stand for...the bad guy is politicians....and if you don;t see that...then your a bad guy by default

So on the 19th year since 9/11 I say this.... I don't care anymore....I can be a really good guy, or I can be a really good bad guy....So call me a racist, one more time,,,,,and let see the dance we do.....

Half of America is not worth saving that is true, and I have thought the same thing. They do evil things, and a lot of them are children of the Devil. I despair because I know that they will not change, and I can’t stop their heedless ways. But I still help where I can, even with evil all around.

Places like Afghanistan have become tar babies, that we can’t get out of, but America has to stay in because of the Taliban.
    It is a mess.

I do good things, not because I have that built into me, but for Christ. It sure isn’t for the typical American. That is how I keep going, I do good works for Christ.

The country I served and still would has made a serious turn to Marxism. Mixed with socialism. It will fail just a madder of how far we fall before enough wake up. The Marxist and socialist have been working from the ground up for a long time slowly at first taking over the school systems. Indoctrinating minds at all levels . We knew it ,most though it would stop at some point and all would be ok. Then it snow balled and made leaps and bounds in a few years. To late now. Now we have to ride this out.
At the end of high school I was a well indoctrinate liberal. My goal and I worked hard at it was to become a public defender and save the world for the man . My dad laughed. On my way to an easy scholarship in law. But even then the racist BS pushed me aside for someone that never put any effort into anything.
Next thing you know I am on a bus heading to basic. My dad and others let me know my thinking would change . It did. Two years latter I came home to visit. I knew one thing for sure it was not my home anymore. The boy that was doing two years and gone. Ended back in married and retired a 1SG 11B. Two sons now one waiting to fill his slot as SM the other is 1SG turned down SM.
I am not the brain washed boy that left high school. God,Army,Marriage family showed him the truth . Few things will never change. Regardless of what the politics are. I am a American, I love my country warts and all. I will not change and no one on this earth will change me. So let the west coast burn. If they come to burn me out they will die. I may also, so be it. Not even Nancy , Chucky and Biden are running this train wreck. It is own a track all it's own.
No one will run the game on me trying to make me a shamed of my service or my country. They are not that strong. I am not that weak. New war new battle field it is not over yet don't give in as so many have. Once you do the road back is twice as long.
I reflect on this life daily. I don't regret one minute of it. All that happened, what did not happen is why I am where I am now. With out all that went with the years The house would not be as strong as it is today.

I'm sort of Inbetween. At 72 i swore my oath in '68. My levy to RVN was cancelled and I went to Korea instead. Fought aganst the Commie world both as a serviceman and as a civilian.

It really irks me that the people we put our faith and trust in to ensure what we fought for will still be there for the next generation.

I fear that by 2024 we're all gonna be seriously phucked.

And the next two generations, I don't see a whole lot of folks like us.

I did time in Korea like you Sarge....and 2 tours in Iraq. There are less like you and Smity and even myself. But they still exist most are from the rural area, but I did work with those who came from urban areas and the suburbs. Those are far fewer because of the brain washing by the liberals that parents didn't call out and drive out in years past.
Don't lose all hope in those who come behind us, I think the liberals under estimate those they think they have cowed and brow beat. They will be surprised when the reckoning finally comes, but it is past the point of saving without the reckoning. And I just hope those who come after learn from the mistakes that allowed current events happen.
