I went to a family that was moving and bought an Amish made . . . solid oak . . . 2 drawer file cabinet . . . for 20 bucks.

May not do a lot for prepping . . . but I've been under the weather for the last few days . . . soon as I found that and headed out for it . . . all of a sudden I felt a million bucks better.

Didn't prep my stuff . . . but prepped me right real good.

I eat expired stuff all the time to rotate cans. It's just a "best if eaten by" date, beyond which they won't guarantee perfect flavor or texture. As long as they're stored properly and within temp ranges, it's all good. I made my buddy toss out a bunch of his expired stuff because he had them stored in a garage which reaches temps of 120+ in the summers. He had them out there for years and years LOL.

Most people take that best used date as a drop dead date. Not true, I have eaten cans of something or other that are 4 years old and I didn't notice the difference. I don't even notice that third nipple on my chest anymore. Throw some hot sauce on it and move on.

Cans that were decades old have been opened and the contents consumed without illness.
The contents will lose flavor and some nutritional value but…so?
I’d prefer a can of 20-year-old chili over nothing at all.
My mother, on the other hand, wouldn’t.
